This Topps Wacky Packages Goes to the Movies pack reminded me of those cards from when I was a kid. I of course loved the humor since they were directed towards my age group. As an adult this may not hit the same mark they did with our 10 year-old selves but they can still be fun. I grabbed this one as I thought the movie parody theme might be a fun one. With Godzilla: King of the Monsters out 31 May this seemed an appropriate card to start with.
These were worth the random distraction. Did they wow me? No but I'm not disappointed. I think these live up to what we expect from this franchise as a whole. They divide the stickers into different categories - Action, Animated, Comedy, Fantasy, Horror and Sci-Fi with the numbers based on the category.
Like most card sets each sticker has multiple parallels and hits (Sketch, Patch, Autograph or Printing Plate) are also a possibility. I didn't pull either. I'm good with the design and what they were going for here. While I won't pick up more I'm glad I gave these a chance and might look for some of the other Wacky Packages cards.
