2019 Score Football

The 2019 Score football is a set I've been looking forward to.  I like this throwback design.  Like many I get tired of reusing old designs sometimes but I'm a fan of this one so it gets a thumbs up from me.  After last season's break out year Patrick Mahomes will be front and center in this set I'm sure and I was happy to pull his card.
I like the design with the team colors and big football helmet.  We also have the player's position which isn't always a given.  I really like some of the photos as well.  The Ezekiel Elliot photo really stands out to me though the Jimmy Graham emotion shot is a nice one as well.
The backs also hearken back to years past.  I like all the color.  As always more years of stats would be better but overall a good job.  The photos are duplicates of the front but it is rare that we get a different photo.
Those Signal-Callers cards are a bit shiny and I'm not a big fan.
Rookies are a big part of this set as 100 of the 400 base cards are dedicated to them.  The Drew Lock is a base rookie card while the NFL Draft cards are inserts.  The Darrell Henderson is a red parallel.  The only drawback is these are produced pre-NFL Draft so you'll have to go out on your own to figure what team, if any, drafted or picked them up.
Plenty of inserts here.  I like the Fantasy Stars cards which highlights a player's specific performance but there is plenty of variety in this set when it comes to inserts.
I liked the Captains inserts last year and I like this one as well but I do want to see more.  Are those Chargers uniforms really throwbacks?  Seems like we see those all the time!

Bottom line is I like this set.  I'm digging the design and there is plenty of variety to keep you entertained.

  1. Love the base set design. Kinda reminds me of the 1989 Score design.

  2. It's not a bad design, and bringing back the helmet's with the team logo is a nice touch. I could live without inserts devoted to fantasy sports though, but that's just me, I'm sure that the mainstream crowd appreciates those more, so...

    1. I like the design of the Fantasy Sports cards but though I play fantasy sports it the numbers don't do anything for me.
