Baseball Card Highlights from Affordable Breaks Stack

I received a large stack of baseball cards from Affordable Breaks.  Colby does a great job at keeping the breaks affordable and fun.  We'll kick off this stack with Jason Varitek.  A career Red Sox, he's a favorite of mine from those teams that finally brought this generation of Boston fans a World Series Championship.  This 2023 Stadium Club red parallel is a great looking card and photo from winning the '04 World Series.
I'll show off highlights from my stack.  I always get the Red Sox if available as well as other teams who may have players I collect.  Tim Wakefield is a favorite all-time Boston Red Sox so it's always great to get cards of his.  RIP
Not sure how I snagged this one but always happy to get a Ryno card.
I like Big Leage Baseball.
Who doesn't love the photos Stadium Club gives us?  I'm pretty sure I had that championship shirt back in the day.
I'm a Kirby Puckett guy so I don't hesitate to pick the Twins when given the chance of pulling him.  I like the angle of that last photo.  Something different.
He also does breaks of new products from time to time.  I'm a Tatis Jr. and Jose Altuve guy so San Diego and Houston are grabbed at times.
I'm a fan of some of the Angels from this timeframe and I really like the unis from that era.  Great look on Chili Davis' face.

I liked these A's teams with Rickey, Stewart and Eck particular favorites of mine.
Maddux and Clemens?  Win!
Upper Deck showing they can think outside of the box for photos as well.  I like the Ted Willams picture.
Some Topps Archives which is a favorite brand of mine.  That Yoshida is a two-sided card with Ichiro on the back.

I always enjoy getting these stacks in the mail.  This is only a very small sampling but lots of fun.

1996 Upper Deck Silver Collection Football (Affordable Breaks)

1996 UD Silver Collection: I chose multiple teams from an Affordable Breaks break of this set.  I wasn't familiar with the set but liked enough of what I saw online to jump in on some teams.  We'll kick it off with Eric Metcalf who was converted to a pass catcher in that high throwing Atlanta offense.
I know those backgrounds look really shiny but they aren't that way in hand.  A bit shiny but the backgrounds are clear and colorful.  Just what the scan did to them.  The Jeff George era in Atlanta was not a good one but in his first two season he did throw for a lot of yards.  Terance Mathis was a really good receiver in his eight years in Atlanta including helping them get to the Super Bowl in 1998.
Andre Reed and the Bills had recently ended their four-year run to consecutive Super Bowls and while winning 10 gems 1995 and 1996 they were on the downturn of that great era.  Would have liked to see a team logo on the card fronts.
I love the Buc's creamsicle unis and many players from that era.  Here we get a couple of linebacker greats from Tampa Bay.  Nice Hardy Nickerson photo.
I'm a fan of Jim Everett and Michael Haynes, who was a speedster for the Falcons prior to playing for New Orleans.
One of my favorite all-time players in John Elway...in a very awkward looking photo.  Upper Deck could have done better and did on that Terrell Davis photo.  Speaking of the Super Bowl Atlanta played in, these three led the Broncos to the lopsided victory in that game that was never in question from almost the get go.
Even though we don't get career stats for players on the backs we do get a nice colorful second photo.  More creamsicle greatness.  I like these.  Where is the team logo on that Everett card though?
A couple of inserts.  I like the die-cut All-NFL team cards.  We also see a League Leaders Bryce Paup card.  Every set should have Leage Leaders cards.  I also like that we get Offensive Line cards.  Those dudes deserve love too.
I like all three of these photos.
Andre Rison was in Cleveland for one not so memorable season but was great for the Falcons in his five years with the team.
I always liked Terry Allen who once led the league with 21 rushing touchdowns as a Redskin.  Upper Deck made up for the poor photo on the front with this John Elway back.  Fun cards.  Check out Affordable Breaks if you aren't already.  Fun cards.

Affordable Breaks: 2005 Upper Deck ESPN and 2021 Diamond Kings

Make sure you're tuned into Affordable Group Breaks on Facebook and his blog Cardboard Collections. Today I'll show off Red Sox baseball cards from 2005 Upper Deck and 2021 Diamond Kings.  Always been a fan of ESPN magazine cards so this is a great way to start.  As beloved as Nomar was, his trade helped bring a championship to Boston.
These are good looking cards though they lack a logo.  That All-Star uni Ortiz is wearing looks like it could be an Astros alternate uni.  Still bummed Manny's career path went the way it did.  He was maybe the greatest right handed hitter of our generation...until he got popped for PEDs.  Still fun cards and these guys helped end the Red Sox World Series drought.  These are also the only three cards in the team base set.  Why isn't Pedro part of the base set?  I don't get it.
So good.  So much fun.  And if you need anyone to take down aging baseball coaches...Pedro is your guy.
Pretty good Bobby Dalbec representation in my 2021 Diamond Kings cards.  Good looking base cards.  This Sportscenter Swatch is technically a Dodgers card I think but I ended up with it and glad I did.  Lowe was a key member of that 2004 team, especially during the playoffs.  Fun cards and as always check out those links above.  You won't be disappointed with the prices and variety in his breaks.

Affordable Breaks: 2020-2021 Donruss Basketball (Multiple Teams)

2020-2021 Donruss Basketball: Make sure your tuned into Affordable Group Breaks on Facebook and his blog Cardboard Collections. Game 5 tonight...go Bucks!  I ended up with multiple teams, some of which were discounted.  I grabbed the Hawks, Mavs, Clips, Nuggets, Bulls and Magic, Nets and Pacers.  We'll kick it off with this guy.  I pulled three of his cards which is never a bad thing.
Great photo on that Doncic card.  The design isn't bad.  Won't knock your socks off but I won't complain.
I liked these inserts.  The 80s Miami Vice vibe works for me and some pretty good players help.
That's a Green and Yellow Laser parallel.  They aren't numbered.  The backs are blah but that is to be expected with Donruss.
Added Gordon and Sabonis to the PC.  Didn't grab Sabonis' base card though.
Another good looking insert.
Fun bunch of cards and plenty of guys I can add to the collection.  As I will never see these in the wild I was really happy to see these come up on Affordable Breaks.  Plenty of great deals across the sports there.  He's on a bit of a break as he is in the process of moving but make sure you keep checking in.

BREAKDOWN:
60 – Total Cards
11 – Rated Rookie
3 – Franchise Features
2 – X-Pectations
2 – Power in the Paint
1 – Fantasy Stars
1 – Green & Yellow Laser Parallel

Affordable Breaks Multiple Baseball Breaks

I'm a big fan of Cardboard Collections: Affordable Breaks & Giveaways on Facebook. Colbey also has the Cardboard Collections blog.  Check him out at both spots.  The prices are great and he has plenty of fun sets to choose from.  I like the ability to "stack" my breaks and finally had my baseball cards sent to me. So many cool cards.  I'm going to just show off a lot of the cards and let them speak for themselves.  This is a 1996 Leaf Preferred Tony Gwynn Stare Masters insert which is #/2500. Definitely one of my favorites.
While I tend towards my Braves and Red Sox the prices allow me to chase favorite players as well.  I hit with Mike Trout inserts in a few breaks.
I love those Angels unis and Tim Salmon is a PC guy for me.
I had everything from metal cards, die cuts,  inserts, numbered cards, posters, 1/1 - pretty much anything you can think of.
Plenty of A's from those nineties A's that I really like including PC guy Mark McGwire.
I think this captures all the different breaks I was a part of that got me these cards:  2020 Diamond Kings, 1997 Pinnacle Express, 2004 Upper Deck Play Ball, 1991 Studio, 1995 Topps Bazooka, 1995 Donruss, 2002 Donruss, 2002 Donruss Super Estrellas, 2005 Rookie Cup, 1996 Leaf Preferred, 2017 Honus Bonus, 1995 Upper Deck SP, 2003 Upper Deck Standing O!, 2020 Big League, 1992 Fleer Ultra

Great photo on that Carlos Correa card.  These are both new offerings.  The majority of the breaks are from older sets but these are just as fun.
Colbey is a Braves fan so I don't get a chance at picking Atlanta but being the great guy he is he threw in some for me anyway.

This is the 1/1 I mentioned earlier from the 2017 Honus Bonus set.  Kimbrel is a PC guy for me so this is a really awesome pull.

That Eckersley is a silver parallel.

This is a very small portion of what I received.  Going through these was a lot of fun.  Never know what you'll pull and the prices make grabbing extra teams so easy. Thanks Colbey!
