Random Wax: 2021-2022 Donruss Basketball

21-22 Donruss: Giannis is still a Magician.  Over 30 points and 12 rebounds per game this season, this guy is also a beast.  Milwaukee still doesn't look like they can compete with the top teams in the Eastern Conference, but I still wouldn't want to see these guys in the playoffs.
Great pull in this pack that I picked up in July of 2022 but am just now posting.  Not a design I care for, but I picked up more than I should have.  None of these three are still on the teams here, now playing for the Mavericks, Suns and Kings, respectively.
Giddey and Jones are both averaging over 10 points per game for their careers.
Wow, how things have changed for all three of these players.  Middleton was a fan favorite prior to his trade to the Wizards this season.  He did win a Championship with the Bucks in 2021.
I like that Complete Players insert and that Terrence Ross is a Green Yellow Holo Laser Parallel.
All three of these showcase the pandemic era and empty arenas.  The now Golden State Warrior, Jimmy Butler with maybe my favorite hairstyle of his.  Great photo too.

Random Wax: 2021-2022 Donruss Basketball (3 Packs)

21-22 Donruss: Bam Adebayo is a three-time all-star and been named to the all-defensive team four times in his five years in the league.  It really feels like he's been in the league longer than that.  Miami has also made two NBA Finals appearances during that timeframe.  You can see the masks and faux fans in the stands in the background of this nice photo of Bam.
Can't remember where I picked these up, but I opened three packs with 10 cards in each.  No complaints with my pull.  KAT, George and Harden are all studs in the NBA.
Another Cade Cunningham.  Pulled plenty of him which is good.  Suggs is a solid player in Orlando.  Bought this pack in May, 2022.
I feel Darius Garland is overlooked in Cleveland.  I get that Donovan Mitchell is the star there but Garland has had a really good career.  That Capela is one of the Green and Yellow Laser Parallels.  Derrick White with mad hair game.
Rudy Goebert and the T-Wolves figured it out this year.  I had my doubts, as did everyone else, after the bad year that was last season.  A nice early career Tyrese Maxey appearance.  These packs were so much fun.  Great pull that allowed me to overlook one of the Donruss designs I really don't like.

Random Wax: 2021-2022 Donruss Basketball

21-22 Donruss Basketball:  Been a great NBA Finals with Boston and Golden State trading blows.  Maybe it will get closed out tonight?  Jaylen Brown has played well for the Celtics this series.
Jimmy Butler did everything possible he could in the Eastern Conference Finals against Boston but Miami still fell short.  Just not his fault.  KD and the Nets struggled in the playoffs and regular season and it'll be interesting to see what happens in the offseason and how Ben Simmons fits with this team moving forward.
Plenty of rookie representation.  Bones Hyland and Evan Mobley both had good rookie campaigns while Trey Murphey III is still finding himself with the Pelicans.
Good looking photo on this Franchise Features insert.  Booker and Suns came up short against Golden State in the Western Conference Finals and now have to figure out what to do with Deandre Ayton this offseason.  Is Trey Young trying to get the beer guy's attention?
Steven Adams has been a great fit with Memphis this year.  Myles Turner will the paint to himself next season with the Pacers with fellow big man Sabonis traded to the Kings.
Anthony Edwards, Georgia Bulldog alum, and PC guys making an appearance.  Really good pack.  Plenty of stars.  Still not a fan of the design but I still find myself grabbing these.  We'll end it with Kawhi Leonard.  Can't wait to see a healthy version of him for a full season.

2021-2022 Donruss Basketball Blaster

2021-2022 Donruss Basketball: March Madness is in full swing and all our brackets are dumpster fires.  Found some Donruss basketball in the wild yesterday so I'll show off the blaster today starting with James Harden.  If Brooklyn can stay healthy these guys can compete with any team...even with Ben Simmons.  Low blow I know.
I was all excited about these until I opened the box and remembered it has the same Donruss design I dislike across the other sports.  Just blah.
Not a lot of Rated Rookies in a blaster but this year's crop is solid even it the rookies aren't taking the league by storm yet.
On to the inserts and we get Dame which is always great.  I like that photo.  Three Jazz looking like they could do nothing to stop him.  Probably true.
Retired greats have a bare minimum presence in basketball cards this year.  Very disappointing. I like the Complete Players insert but think they could tweak the name somehow.  Bland name.
Price on this blaster was $27 I think while the packs I picked up were over $7 each.  For Donruss?  Ugh.  The Orange Laser parallels at least gave life to some of the cards.
Some favorite players of mine.
Really good pull in this box if nothing else.  Not sure I'll pick more of these up.  Given the option I'll grab more Hoops and I've already picked up a ton of Hoops.
