Random Wax: 2021 Donruss Football

2021 Donruss: Not a design I care for, but this Blue Parallel Peyton Manning looks good.  The blue border with the Colts' blue uni helps me like it more.  Good photo as well.  Peyton is of course a legend on and off the field and it doesn't feel like his last season was 2015.
Lots of red going on here.  Nick Bosa is the only player amongst these three still playing.
Nico Collins is having a really good career.  Ojilari had some okay seasons.
More retired greats!  I love their inclusions in the set, and we get another sighting of The Sherriff.
That Chase Young is a Retro 1996.  It's not a bad looking card but I wasn't a huge fan back in the day.
The career for each of these final four players has taken some different turns in the last three years.  Some good, some not so good, some head shaking.  Fun cards and always fun when I get around posting a pack that has been sitting on the sidelines for so long.

Random Wax: 2021 Donruss Football

2021 Donruss:  We'll kick this one off with a pretty cool Justin Herbert Power Formulas insert.  Chargers are struggling this year.  Doesn't seem to be Herbert's fault.  Hopefully they can figure it out soon.  It's a shame to see his talent go to waste.
No arguments with any of these guys.  I really thought Dalvin Cook would have a bigger role with the Jets considering how good he is but that never materialized even with the injury to Hall.
Moehrig is tops amongst these youngsters as a starting safety for the Raiders.
Two of the best along the defensive line in Watt and Mack who is having a great year (13v sacks) at age 32 for the Chargers.
Two Press Proof Blue Parallels of two of my favorites.  Enjoy seeing coach cards too.
Love my pull in this pack.  So many great players.  Definitely a win.

Random Wax: 2021 Donruss Football

2021 Donruss:  I'm a big Fitz fan and this photo transports us back to a time most of us want to forget.  2020 was Fitzgerald's last season of a Hall of Fame career.  I am surprised he was All-Pro only once, but he was a member of the All-2010s Team.
Some running back love when running backs don't get so much love.  While I get the devaluing of the position, I don't like it and I do think having a strong running game does set up those passing games.  And I still don't like this design.
Some youngsters including a Blue Press Proof and Gold Foil parallel.  Will we ever get to see who Trey Lance really is?  I'd like to at least see him get some extended time at QB so we know.
Here we have two No Helmet photo variations.  Dak has to feel like his hair, or lack thereof, just doesn't stand up to what Jalen Ramsey brings to the table.  Fun cards in this pack.  We'll end it with a couple of retired greats on Blue Press Proof parallels.

Random Wax: 2021 Donruss Football

2021 Donruss Football:  I'm a Drew Pearson fan.  When growing up in New Mexico it was Cowboys on TV every week so I got to watch plenty of this guy.  I was very happy he was elected to the Hall of Fame.  I think he deserved to be in and when I pulled this card it became my favorite Drew Pearson card.  Good photo, design and of course it references him being a Hall of Famer.
Still don't like this design.  Maybe someday I'll stop saying that.  It'll be interesting to see what happens with Lamar Jackson.  He's really betting on himself going into 2022 without a contract extension.  And it makes you wonder which side is being the most stubborn.  Hard to think Baltimore would risk losing this guy.
Pat Freiermuth had a great first year catching 60 passes and scoring seven touchdowns.  St. Brown had a monster year for Detroit with 90 catches and five touchdowns.  Thinking of Detroit I never would think any of their receivers would have that many receptions.  Much less a rookie.  Bolton also had a good year notching 70 solo tackles.  no complaints about my rookies.
I like Adam Thielen.  He may not be the #1 guy in Minnesota anymore but he is still a great #2 guy and has caught 15 and 10 touchdowns the last two years, respectively.  Retired greats are one of the great things about Donruss.  No complaints about this pack.  Lots of goodness.

Random Wax: 2021 Donruss Football Blaster with Holiday Relic

2021 Donruss Football: This is a good box to look at this time of the year.  We'll kick it off with Brett Favre whose former team is in contention for the #1 seed in the NFC.
Not a favorite design of mine but no issues with my pull.
These three are some of the photo variations which include sideline shots of the players.
That Kyle Trask is a Optic Rated Rookie Preview Red & Green Parallel.
Ja'Marr Chase is having a good rookie year playing with former LSU teammate Joe Burrow.  Zach Wilson is still getting up to speed but a fun photo none the less.
Retired greats are always a great inclusions in sets.
Some wide receiver greats from around the league.
Blasters come with a Rookie Holiday Sweater Relic.  This is a pretty good rookie to pull this year even if the Steelers have struggled.
Coaches get some love in this set as well.  Some "pretty good" running backs.
And some defensive goodness.  Fun box.  My pull was really good.  I'll end it with a great looking Christian McCaffrey card.  Enjoy a fun day of football.

2021 Donruss Football Hanger Box

2021 Donruss Football: Found some of these in the wild which made me happy.  I was thinking I might not get a chance to bust some of this brand.  This Mahomes was the highlight of the pack so we'll kick it off with him.  Can't say Mahomes is struggling with a 106.1 passer rating but the Chiefs are at the bottom of the AFC West standings which is not something we're used to in the Mahomes era.  Still Mahomes is a favorite of mine.  He's a Texas Tech alum and dude is just awesome.
This is definitely not a design I'm a fan of.  I can't put my finger on it but it just doesn't work for me.
Plenty of photo variations which will normally be mask shots or sideline shots.  These aren't short printed but still fun alternatives.
Young players can be found but I expected more than six Rated Rookies in the box of 50 cards.
Elite is in force with Legends (though it isn't listed as Elite but looks like Elite), Elite and Elite Rookies.  So there are Legends in the Elite series.  Not sure why they didn't just put them in the Legends Series.
The Rookies inserts have a good look to them as does the Retro Series cards.
Even though I don't care for the design this was still a fun box.  The variations, retired legends and inserts give you good variety.
