I wasn't wowed by 2019 Donruss baseball my first time around but I'm all about second chances. Did a second pack change my mind any? No. Will I pick up more of these? I just don't know. I do like the basic design but the lack of team logo is too distracting. I can still see me picking up more of these but they won't be my first choice. I was happy to pull a Jose Altuve red parallel that'll go into my PC.
Good pull in this pack. I can't complain on that front at all.
I like the glasses on the Starling Marte Diamond King. Nice choice.
The lack of photos of players fielding really stands out. Almost as much as the lack of team logos. I'm trying to get past the no logo thing...it is SO hard.
These are all variations with Realmuto being a name variation while the other two are photo variations.

The base card design and decent action shots are nice... but I won't go out of my way to buy any of this stuff unless it's heavily discounted.
ReplyDeleteI don't doubt this was my last pack of these unless like you said they are discounted.
DeleteThese cards have such a 90's feel to them.I like them!If I pick up anything ,pack wise,In 2019 It will be these.
ReplyDeleteI just noticed ,they're trying hard to make up for the lack of a team logo by putting the players numbers on the lower right hand corner.Again,I like It.
ReplyDeleteThey definitely try to minimize the fact there are no logos in different ways. You'll see almost no fielding or running photos. They do what they can.
DeleteShame we don't see Panini put out a set in the way of the Mariano Rivera Bowman rookie. They could avoid the no logo thing and the fashion of athletes on cardboard would be a nice change of pace.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea. It would definitely stand out.
