Random Wax: 2020 Topps Baseball

2020 Topps Baseball:  This is one of the smaller packs of 16 cards. For some reason my Wal-Mart had these out before the fat packs so I picked it up early on.  Judge, albeit a Yankee, isn't a bad start for a pack.  This layoff may help him heal from the injury he was dealing with.
A bit more star power among the base cards.  Braun's career has been pretty wild with the steroids test craziness and an MVP season part of the narrative.  He is 35 now and had a good year last year but you have to wonder how much longer he'll be around.
That's a fun photo on the Cardinals team card.
Still not big fans of these inserts but there are those who are.  Small but fun pack.  There are more Topps flagship coming as we haven't even gotten to the season yet.

16 – Cards
1 – Team Card
1 – Turkey Red
1 – Checklist Card

    1. I'll take it. I've had better but definitely had worse. Good pack in my book.

  2. The Doolittle Turkey Red card looks nice. I just hate seeing it as an insert. It'd be cool if they released them as a stand alone product again... but not every year. Maybe once every 5 to 7 years so collectors can build up a craving again.

    1. I like that idea. A brand that comes out every X years. Somebody needs to get on that.

  3. I like the Hoskins. I’ve purchased a hanging box or two of Series 1, and haven’t pulled any of that set, mostly got Turkey Reds. I think I like the idea of Turkey Reds as an insert. I think doing them as a set worked in 2006 and 2007 when Gypsy Queen wasn’t around, but with GQ, Allen Ginter (and I guess you could count Archives as well), that’s 3 vintage sets out there. Turkey Reds would make 4. Feels like a little much.
Also, are you up for trading?

    1. Definitely up for trading. Let me know what you like. These Turkey Reds don't resonate with me. Some folks like them. I like Fuji's idea of them coming out as a set every X amount of years.

  4. Mainly Rays and Tigers. I have a wantlist on my blog but really any Rays or Tigers will do. I see you like the Red Sox and Braves. Any other specific needs?
