2025 Topps Heritage Hanger Box

2025 HeritageSalvador Perez has struggled this season but he's a five-time Gold Glove winner, 9X All-Star, 5X Silver Slugger, Clemente Award winner, and World Series MVP.  He also led the league in home runs and runs batted in in 2021.  His work behind the plate and as a hitting catcher may well put him in the Hall of Fame someday.
We revisit the '76 Topps design in this year's set.  I like it here.  I'm not necessarily a big fan of the designs from the 70s and prior but this one isn't too bad on new wax.
We get our young players including Darren Baker on a hanger box exclusive Light Purple Parallel.
I pulled two record breakers.  I like them.  They and other subsets within the 500-card base set are nods to some of the same subsets seen in the '76 set.
I like these cards.  Fun, and as a longtime fan of the sport I see more and more sons of players I watched 20+ years ago every year.
Three Chrome inserts including a Burgundy Sparkle Parallel.  I like the look of that parallel.  Sonny Gray is a Holo Foil Parallel.
Fernando Tatis Jr. is having a great start to the 2025 season.  The backs of the cards are fun but without proper lighting they are hard to read.
Three League Leader cards which are great.  I like the photos, layout and stats.  The backs give us the leaders in the stat for each year.  I love that.
Fun box of cards.  Not sure if I grab more of these from retail but I can see myself picking off singles.

Random Wax: 2022 Topps Heritage

2022 Heritage: All I want for Christmas is a healthy Mike Trout season.
The rest of this pack was a bit hit and miss.  Hoskins has taken his talents to Milwaukee where he still has power but hitting for average not so much.
I like the Heritage retro look more when we get action or game photos like this Josiah Gray card.
Three tightly cropped headshots.  Sean Murphy and many of the Braves had down seasons in 2024.
Some more good-looking action photos and lots of greatness on the back of the Mike Trout card.  1st or 2nd in MVP voting seven times!  Crazy good.

Random Wax: 2022 Topps Heritage

2022 HeritagePete Alonso will be one of the bigger free agents on the market this offseason.  The man can hit long balls.  I've always liked him, but I forgot he hit 53 as a rookie in 2019.
German Marquez is a 1X All-Star and has also won a Silver Slugger award.  Jazz Chisholm stole a career high 40 bases this season for the Marlins and Yankees.
These three didn't make a mark in the majors.  I think this was a hobby pack but I'm not sure where I would have picked it up.  This pack was scanned two years ago but I'm just now posting it.
Not the strongest pull in a pack of cards but always fun.  Nice action photo of Swanson to finish it off.

2021 Topps Heritage High Number Blaster with Autograph

2021 High Numbers:  Great autograph pull in this blaster which is showing up on shelves at a discounted price.  It's a nice on card signature to boot.  Gerrit Cole has battled injuries this season but for his career he is 150-77 with 3.18 ERA.  Amazing career.
I'm not that high on Heritage as I'm not a huge fan of the all the older designs or the non-action photos.  The standard 2021 Heritage release was more entertaining.  The variety sets it apart from these cards.  As these hit the 80s I'll be more on board..
Great hitting backstop.
Shane McClanahan has had a solid career with the Rays.
This set contains stars not in the earlier set, rookies and players with new teams.  That Trey Mancini is a Chrome Refractor or Chrome Variation #/999...I think.  I repeat, I think, because I can't find any card #/999 on the checklists.
Some inserts and a Topps All-Star Rookie Cup.  Sure thought Jo Adell would be something big or at least hoped he would be.  I like the vibe on that Rookie Performers card.  Now and Then is nice as well. Tony Gonsolin will miss all of the 2024 season after Tommy John surgery but otherwise has had a solid career.
Stephen Strasburg was the World Series MVP helping the Nationals win their only Championship in 2019.
This box is obviously highlighted by the autograph.  Not sure I'll pick up more of these or the other discounted Heritage boxes, but this one will make me think twice when I do see them.

2023 Topps Heritage Baseball

2023 Heritage:   Manny Machado has struggled this season, but he's been an excellent power hitter over his career.
I somehow never picked any 2023 Heritage up last year.  Saw this reduced priced pack yesterday and couldn't resist.  This 1974 design isn't a bad one.  Wish they would have snuck in the team logo but otherwise I think it's solid.
Horizontal offering.  Yandy is also struggling at the plate after leading the league with a .330 batting average last year.
Youngsters from the pack.  Vaughn Grissom is now a Red Sox after being part of the trade that sent Chris Sale to the Braves.
Nice backs as well.  All the stats we want to see.
The 1974 Topps Baseball Stamps inserts include four past and present player stamps from each team and each stamp is individually numbered.

It felt like Heritage was getting away from the torso or head and shoulder shots on these.  I like that.  I think the action photos really work well and help mix it up.
I really like All-Star cards and these are a subset in Heritage.  I like the overall design and enjoy seeing the box score on the back.  Fun pack of cards and maybe I'll pick more of these up.

2024 Topps Heritage Hanger Box

2024 Heritage:  Saw these on the shelves last night and picked up a box.  Two-time home run champion Pete Alonso will lead it off.  He anchors my fantasy team but needs to pick it up after a slow start.  Power is there but the average is ugly.
Not always a fan of Heritage as the older designs aren't something I'm a big fan of.  This 1975 design isn't bad though and it seems like they've gotten away from the closeup head and shoulders pics which dominated previous sets.  Big plus to me.
Alek Thomas has shown plenty of power in his young career but hasn't shown he can hit consistently.
I like these MVP cards.  You get to see cards of players the year they won the MVP.  Fairly simple but I like it.
I really like the All-Star designations for players.  Great add here.  That first card is the back of the 2023 MVP card and then we have the Pete Alonso back.  The MVP back is okay but it really feels like they could have done better.  The backs of the base cards are fine but really do look dark to me.
Great player combo here.
Overall, I like the photos.  I realized I never did pick up any 2023 Heritage.  Hmmmm
Leaders cards aren't that exciting.  Feels like they could use a baseball or something else like we see on the base design.
That Freddy Peralta is a Low-Numbered SP which make up the first 100 cards.  Not sure how they chose players for those 100.
I really like these but I do think there could be more variety in the subsets.
$14 for 35 cards is a tough sell even with the draw of the retro look and feel.

Love seeing retired greats as always.  Wish there were more.  That 1999 design is not appealing at all.  The colors on that Hank Aaron card as well as the Brewers uni just don't feel right but I'm always happy pulling him.  I like these enough that I might grab more of these.  We'll see.
