Random Wax: 2020 Illusions Football

2020 Illusions:  Super Bowl Sunday!  Should be a good game.  I'm happy for Christian McCaffrey.  He's my favorite player in the league today and it'd be fun to see him win a championship.  He did have a great year rushing for over 1400 yards and 14 touchdowns while averaging 5.4 yards per carry.
Only 20 cards in a pack but I had a great pull.  I know Dak has his haters but man so many teams dream about having a QB like him under center.  2020 would be Drew Brees' last season but wow what a career it was.  Purchased this pack in December, 2020 but just now getting around to posting it.
Can't wait to see Joe Burrow have another fully healthy season.  Cole Kmet had the best season of his career with 73 receptions.
A couple of great wideouts with Tyreek Hill a top three receiver in the league.
That Minshew is one of the orange parallels in the pack.  We also get a nice Jerry Rice who knows a thing or three about championships.  Go Niners!

Random Wax: 2020 Illusions Football

2020 Illusions:  Overall I like this brand.  This pack is almost three years old and I'm finally getting around to sharing it.  And Mahomes is as good as any other to start with.
One of the nice things about these are that the fronts have two different photos.  The prominent photo in the front and the muted photo in the back which has a head and shoulders shot with their helmet off most of the time.  That Elliott is an orange parallel.
Three years ago we had no idea what drama would befall Deshaun Watson.  Watt was already a defensive stud by this time in his career.
The Commanders didn't pick up their option on Chase Young's contract so this season will be a contract year for him.  I like him and hope he can stay healthy and maybe return to his dominant form.
Good pack of cards and a nice pull.  I always enjoy looking back at these.  They look good and you never know how things have changed since these were printed.  Glad to see Jackson finally get his deal done.  Now we'll see what the Ravens can do with that behind them.

Random Wax: 2020 Illusions Football

2020 Illusions:  Picked up packs of this brand late last year and I'm finally getting around to posting another pack.  This guy got the big contract this year and Arizona fans will be expecting results.  The start of the season was a bit tough but overall this guy is one of the better quarterbacks in the league.  He just needs that to equate to more wins.
Good pull in this pack.  Hoping to see Ezekiel Elliott back to form this year after dealing with injuries of late.  As a whole I like Illusions as a brand though it goes against some of what I usually want on a card.
This Justin Herbert rookie is looking even better this year.  Fingers crossed his rib injury doesn't affect him too much.  Philly fans are hoping Jalen Hurts becomes the guy they need to have any chance of contending.  Not sure I'm sold on that but only time will tell.
I'm a big fan of Todd Gurley but wow did he fall quickly.  Still plenty of good memories for this guy. Even got to see him play for Atlanta for a hot second.  That Mystique insert is an acetate card.
I like good running backs and Henry is another beast when he has it going.  Mahomes is a great way to end it.  Overall a good pack of cards.  You'll see a parallel of that card whenever I get around to posting the next pack of these cards.

2020 Illusions Football

2020 Illusions Football: Found this at a Wal-Mart in a small town returning from visiting the kids yesterday.  They actually had quite a bit of product but my budget with Christmas coming up is somewhat tight right now.  Still I picked up three of these and this is the first one I opened.  Joe Burrow is not a guy I've seen a lot in my pulls so this was fun to see.  I know his knee is jacked up but you have to be rooting for this guy.  He was doing so well before the injury and the Bengals' fans deserve a break.
The base set is only 100 cards so I think you'd have to expect a pretty good pull in most packs.  I was really happy with mine.  Picking up the two top rookies and plenty of stars helped this pack get a high score.
I really want to call that Wentz card a bronze parallel but it is an orange parallel.  Just doesn't have quite the orange tint those parallels did last year.  That Mystique is an acetate card.
I'd prefer some stats on that card back but I love the large logo.  Doesn't give Panini a pass on the stats omission though.
Really glad I took the 5 minutes to check out this store.  These are some nice looking cards and I'm more than happy to add them to the collection.  I'll show off those other two packs over time and I can't complain about either of them either.  And no dupes from all the cards in the three packs.
