2023 Select Football

2023 Select:  You have to think, or hope Jalen Hurts and the Eagles can get past their collapse of last season.  They've started off well so there is hope.
Saquon is looking like a great pickup for those same Eagles.  Some irony that he went to a team within the division.  That A-Aron is a Club Level design while Saquon is Concourse.  I've enjoyed Select in previous years but not a big fan this year.  Maybe my tastes are changing.  It feels like Select but I'm just not there.
Rookie representation.  You'll find plenty of diecut parallels as well.  They don't do much for me but there are those who like them.  Kobie Turner had an outstanding first year with nine sacks.  Jordan Addison was no slouch with 73 catches.  BJU Ojulari had four sacks but is injured this season.
The backs are colorful but lack stats.  Always a bummer.  The cards are separated across different levels:

Concourse – #1-100
Premier Level – #101-200
Club Level – #201-300
FIeld Level – #301-400
Suite Level – #401-500
Some inserts.  Nothing crazy good but they are okay.  Select Certified would be my favorite here.  Nice Nacua pull while Addison makes another appearance.
These are Red & Yellow Prizm Die Cut parallels which are three to a pack.  I can't see myself picking up more of the these.  The price point and lack of wow factor will keep me away.

2023-24 Panini Select Basketball Hanger Box

23-24 SelectAnthony Edwards has had an incredible playoffs and there's been many comparisons to NBA greats which are premature.  That said, I've always been on the former Georgia Bulldog's bandwagon and he's showing why he's a star in the league.
While shiny cards aren't necessarily my thing, I've always had a soft spot for Select.  This year's offering is a nice bright blue which I like.  Overall nice design and good photos.  These Blue base cards are specific to retail as opposed to the hobby cards.
Youngsters.  We have the base Concourse design, a Tectonic Prizm Parallel and an Orange Tectonic Prizm Parallel.  Bilal Coulibaly had a solid rookie season for the Wizards.  He was originally drafted by Indiana but went to Washington as part of the three-team Bradley Beal trade.
These first two are Premier Level cards with that Murray being a Green/White/Purple Prizm Parallel.  The Brandon Miller is a Mezzanine Level base card.  Below are the different levels within the set which have their own designs and rarity.
Concourse – #1-100
Premier Level – #101-200
Courtside – #201-300
Mezzanine Level – #301-400 (retail exclusive)

The backs are always colorful but are devoid of stats.
The Thunder Lane inserts are pretty cool.  Maybe my favorite card in the box.  On to the NBA Conference Finals this week.

2021-2022 Select Basketball

21-22 Select Basketball:  I rarely pick up Select Basketball but found a pack as opposed to a blaster so I grabbed one.  We'll kick it off with Donovan Mitchell who has been great with the Cavaliers this season.
A couple more greats from the game today.  There are 300 cards across different levels within the set.  These are from the Base Concourse cards which are numbered 1-100 and most commonly pulled.  The design is pretty good.  Needs a team logo though.
A couple of rookies including a Blue Prizm parallel.
The backs are kind of boring.  We like our stats and it's hard when they aren't there.
Another Blue Prizm parallel.
A Rookie Revolution insert.  Not that exciting of an insert but overall a good pack of cards.  We'll end it with an Anthony Davis Base Premier Level card which is found in numbers 101-200.  Notice the different design.  Base Courtside is the final level of cards and are numbered 201-300 but I didn't pull any of those.  Enjoy your Sunday.

2021 Select Football

2021 Select Football:  Been skipping over this one for some time due to the price.  Finally gave in on a pack.  We'll kick it off with Barry Sanders, one of the top runners of all-time.  I'm very happy I got to watch him play.  So much fun to watch.  This card is the one Base Club Level card I pulled (#201-300).
The design, of which there are multiple, are good ones for shiny cards.  These are Concourse cards (#1-100).  Probably my favorite of the three designs I found.  Good pull including these great receivers.
These are Premier cards (#101-200).  Design is maybe my least favorite of the three but no huge complaints about it.
Plenty of die cut parallel cards as well.  I'm not a die cut card guy but I know they'll appeal to many.
Always fun finding retired greats.  Here we have two of the main reasons the St. Louis Rams had one one of the greatest offenses in NFL history.  "Greatest Show On Turf"
The backs are a bit plain but we do have some color.  These are hte backs to the different subsets - Concourse, Premier, and Club - that I pulled.  I didn't pull cards from the Field Level or XRC subsets.
I won't grab more of these but that's mostly because of the price point.  Maybe look for some singles over time.  Fun pack of cards.

12 – Base Concourse
7 – RC
6 – Base Premier Level
5 – Die Cut Parallel

2020-2021 Select Basketball Hanger Box

2020-2021 Select Basketball: Was really waffling on picking one of these up due to the price point but my love of basketball cards got the best of me.  This hanger box turned out to be a LaMelo Ball "hot pack" with him making three appearances.  I won't complain about that and one of them will go in Colbey's stack.  This card is from the Premier Level subset and is my favorite design of the three.
I'm not a huge shiny card guy but the design on these are a bit better than most.  Not being all silver helps a lot.  Select has subsets and the design on these three is from the Concourse subset.
The Zion is from the Courtside subset and it and the Vucevic are Shimmer Prizm parallels.  The Campazzo is a Green, White, Purple, parallel.  I like the colors on these and they look good in hand.
Overall this was a good box.  I won't pick up more due to the price point.  Would have liked more veteran stars as well.  Still some fun cards.
