2023-2024 Donruss Optic Basketball Blaster

23-24 Optic: We'll kick off this blaster with a Jaylen Brown who's a newly minted NBA Champion.  Brown is so good and signed a max extension with the Celtics which was very deserved.  Boston is setup between him and the rest of their team for success for the foreseeable future.
I'm not a big fan of this Donruss design and it being Optimized? doesn't change much for me but I will say it looks somewhat better in this format.  Nice pull in box too.  Very happy to see one of my favorites, Georgia alum and gold medal winner Anthony Edwards
My rookie pull is exciting to say the least.  Wemby is by far the chase amongst rookies in 23-24 and, no lie, one of the reasons I picked up this box.
Here we have a Purple and Checkerboard Parallel.  Both look pretty good.
Jalen Williams had a great year for OKC averaging 19 points per game while shooting 42% from three.
Not a big fan of the Splash inserts but I'm a fan of the pull.  Brandon Miller was the second-best player from last year's draft.
This was a fun box.  And who knows, maybe I'll grab another one in the chase for Wemby.  We'll end it with Trae Young and a pretty good photo.

2020 Donruss Optic Baseball

2020 Donruss Optic: I picked these up because they were there.  The Donruss design is a good one this year but Optic isn't my thing.  And of course having no license is a big con.  That said these aren't bad looking cards.  I did have a nice pull which always helps.  This Acuna Diamond King was definitely the highlight for me.
These guys add quite a bit of star power to the pack.
The insets are fine.  Not sure what the Stained Glass insert is going for and Illusions is OK but not a home run.
Rookies get to shine here as well.  Nice Yordan Alvarez lime green parallel.  Not saying lime green is a favorite of mine though.
More solid pulls.
The inclusion of retired greats is always a plus for me and Rickey is a PC guy for me.  This was a pretty good pack.  I doubt I'll grab more of these but I know many collectors are big fans.

16 – Total Cards
5 – Rated Rookie
4 – Lime Green Parallels

2019-2020 Donruss Optics Basketball

2019-2020 Donruss Optics Basketball:  Optic is not a brand I'd normally pick up but with basketball cards being what they are I grabbed this back when these were still in the wild.  I love this Steph Cury blue velocity parallel.  It works perfect with the Warriors colors.
The basic design isn't bad.  My issue with Optic/Chrome/shiny cards is they just aren't for me.  I'm not a fan of the shiny look or the thickness arc of the card.  But again as a basic design this is a good one.
Been a few years since I purchased optic.  Seem to be more inserts this time around.  Not a bad insert here with Kyrie Irving in his Brooklyn uni.
Great pull in this pack.  Can't wait to see these guys back on the court.
I won't revisit these cards though if you find any basketball in the wild right now it'd be hard to pass up.  Still this was a fun pack with some great players including one of my faves Damion Lillard.
