2017-2018 Hoops NBA Super Stars Collection

2017-2018 Hoops: The NBA All-Star Game is tonight so I'll show off this Hoops NBA Super Stars set I picked up off Amazon last March.  For just under $10 you got 10 NBA stars.  This came in a bubble hanger?  Not sure how to explain it but one of those where you can see the top card.  You can never go wrong with guy.
$10 for this checklist you can't go wrong.  These guys were all stars in 2017-2018 and still are today though maybe on different teams.  Man those Warriors were good with KD on them.  I truly believe KD is the best player in the league today when healthy.
Back then who woulda thunk the Bucks would have won a championship with this guy or that Kawhi would win another one...with the Toronto Raptors.
Harden is still a stud in the league while Westbrook is the one guy out of this group whose star power has taken a hit.
Great set.  I'm so glad I picked it up.  Even though it's base cards the star power here makes it a no brainer. I will admit it took me probably two months from the time I first found this on Amazon that I pulled the trigger.  Never said I was the smart one in the room.

Random Wax: 2017-2018 Hoops Basketball

With the NBA playoffs in full swing I'm always up for more basketball cards.  This pack of 2017-2018 Hoops was pretty lonely from sitting on the peg for quite a while so I grabbed it.  It didn't disappoint.  The base cards were devoid of star power but the inserts and parallels more than made up for it.  The biggy is a the Great Significance autograph card of Luke Kennard.  Having a decent rookie year (7.6 PPG) he obviously doesn't match up with the huge rookie class from this season but this is still a good pull.  I'm now 2 for 2 with these packs as I also nabbed an auto from one of these packs in January.  What are the odds?  I also pulled an Orange Explosion Klay Thompson (#/75).  To top it off I pulled a LeBron Zero Gravity card.  So while the base cards were disappointing at best this pack really produced, was a great surprise and very fun.

2017-2018 Hoops Basketball

This was my first look at the 2017-2018 Hoops basketball cards.  The pack had 30 cards which is pretty standard these days.  I'm a big Kawhi Leonard fan so his pull was definitely my favorite from the pack.  That said I did pull a Great SIGnificance  autograph of Trail Blazer Great Jake Layman <sarcasm>.  Yeah me too - no idea who he was.  Still you have to be excited about any autograph being pulled from a retail pack and he is a Trail Blazer which is a plus.  There weren't a ton of stars here but I still enjoyed the pack grabbing Kawhi and an auto.  I'll pickup more of these.  I like the design and the price point is always good.
The teal explosion cards are from the fat packs.  Standard Hoops backs - black & white and hard to read for an old guy.
I liked the Zero Gravity cards but could have done without the Kobe tribute cards.  I should like Kobe more but I've always been lukewarm on him.  He deserves a tribute set but I'd like to see sets of some of the other greats who recently retired, yet I don't remember tribute sets from - Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, etc.  Maybe I missed those sets but all I see is Kobe - seems like tribute sets of those guys would have been great when they retired <steps off soap box>.
