Random Wax: 2019-2020 Chronicles Box Break (Pelicans)

2019-2020 Chronicles Basketball:  This is another team I grabbed in one of Ben's breaks.  Check him out if you haven't.  This brand is all about different designs across Panini's portfolio and all about the youngsters.  I got the Pelicans as part of a random break and snagged 16 Zion cards.  I showed those off here and today I'll look at some the rest.
Neither of these guys have really found their footing in the NBA yet.  Alexander-Walker is averaging 13 points per game but hasn't found his shooting touch yet.
Plenty of different designs as is the case with Chronicles.  Makes for some fun cards.
Since the emphasis is on rookies you won't find many veterans.  Brandon Ingram is the only Pelicans vet in the checklist and I didn't pull him.
Plenty of parallel possibility options like this Hayes Playbook card.  That Donruss Melli is the only card of his I pulled.  He's now a member of the Mavericks and struggling to gain traction.
While these guys might not get anyone very excited the Zion cards definitely did.  I enjoy Chronicles and the variety it gives ya.  Just wish there were more veterans in this set.  Again check out what Ben is doing over at his place.  Good breaks and prices.

Random Wax: 2019-2020 Chronicles Box Break (Suns and Jazz)

2019-2020 Chronicles Basketball:  More cards from Ben's breaks.  Again he has great variety in what he breaks at good prices so give him a look.  This post will show off Suns and Jazz cards I got from a Chronicles break as part of a random draw.  These teams could meet in the Western Conference Finals as Phoenix is already in the Finals though Utah still needs to take down the Clips.  The Suns' success owes a lot to this guy who has played great for them this year.
This set focuses on younger players and I like the variety you get.  Plenty of good designs from across the Panini brands.
A lot of Cameron Johnson who is a solid player for the Suns averaging nine points and three boards at the power forward for Phoenix this season.
This Rudy Gobert below is the only Utah Jazz card I pulled.  A Donovan Mitchell would have been nice as well but hey I'll survive.  Some fun cards and I like Chronicles though a bigger veteran's presence would be that much better.

BREAKDOWN:
14 – Total Cards
13 – Phoenix Suns
3 – Panini
3 – Marquee
2 - Prestige
2 – Chronicles
1 – Score
1 – Utah Jazz
1 – Threads
1 – Luminance
1 – Hometown Heroes

Random Wax: 2019-2020 Chronicles Box Break (Houston Rockets)

2019-2020 Chronicles Basketball: I received these as part of break held by Ben over at Ben's Cards and Collectibles last year.  Great breaks and very affordable. Check him out.  This was a random break and  Houston my team.  With Harden and Westbrook it isn't the worst team to grab that is for sure.  We'll kick it off with his Score red parallel #/149.
These are base Chronicles cards.  I like this deign.  The rest of the set is made up of cards from other sets in the Panini portfolio.  Plenty of variety though the focus is on rookies which means it can be a bit lean on veterans sometimes.

My pull included two of the these Threads branded cards. Simple clean look.
Prestige and Panini brand cards.  I like the Prestige but it really needs a team logo as does the Panini card.  Fun cards overall. Not a huge fan of Harden who is now a Brooklyn Net but dude is amazing good.  Same goes for Westbrook.  I still have Jazz, Suns and Pelicans to show off some time.

BREAKDOWN:
10 – Total Cards
7 – James Harden
4 - Chronicles
4 – Russell Westbrook
2 – Panini Threads
1 – Panini
1 – Prestige
1 – Rookies & Stars
1 – Score Red Parallel #/149

2019-2020 Illusions Basketball (76ers and Raptors)

2019-2020 Illusions Basketball: Got these from two random slots in a Ben's Cards and Collectibles Card Breaks break.  If you haven't already take a look at what he offers.  They are pretty affordable and cover the gamut across the big four sports.  The looks of these is close to what you see with Illusions football.  I think I like the football better but these are still good.
The Simmons Bronze parallel is on the right.  Hard to tell much difference when scanned but they show well in hand.  Can't wait to see the NBA again and it'll be fun to see what Doc Rivers can do with the duo of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.
Illusions has a 200 card base set with 50 of those dedicated to rookies.
I'm happy with the cards and my pull.  Random breaks are tough though.  You either hit it big or you can be a bit disappointed with the teams you get.  I've hit big in one of Ben's breaks when I drew New Orleans and ended up with a ton of Zion cards.  Wanted to show these off and again take a look at Ben's breaks.

BREAKDOWN:
14 – Total Cards
8 – Philadelphia 76ers
6 – Toronto Raptors
4 – Rookie
1 – Bronze Parallel

Zion Williamson 2019-2020 Chronicles Box Break - Ben's Cards and Collectibles

2019-2020 Chronicles Basketball:  With basketball at a premium I was very excited when a Chronicles break was posted by Ben's Cards and Collectibles Box Breaks.  He had many blasters and hanger boxes and maybe some packs.  He did random slots on this break and I grabbed two.  I hit the lottery by snagging New Orleans along with Houston.  These have already found another home.  I'd love to sit on these but I still have other Zion cards and this will help with other priorities...and some cards of course.  Make sure you check out Ben's breaks.  They are very reasonable and he hits all the sports old and new.
I was unable to watch the video live but when I did get a chance I was all giddy.  Sixteen Zion cards!  That is craziness and a lot of fun.  This pink parallel Crusade was the big card of the lot.

These are pink an green Marquee parallels.  I also had some doubles but more of Zion isn't bad.  That bottom Luminance is actually a bronze parallel bringing my parallel totals to four which I can't complain about.
I really like the variety found in Chronicles but as the set's focus is rookies you won't get the same variety with veterans.  That can leave you a bit wanting.  My Houston Rockets pulls were a bit "meh" though a numbered James Harden helped.
I was obviously lucky by grabbing the Pelicans.  The guy who pulled the Grizzlies also ended up with either 16 or 17 Ja Morants.  Definitely the best group break I've been a part of.
BREAKDOWN:
1 – Pink Parallel Crusade #529
1 – Green Parallel Marquee #244
1 – Pink Parallel Marquee #244
1 – Bronze Parallel Luminance #143
1 – Luminance #143 2 – Phoenix #570
2 – Essentials #210 2 – Panini #120
1 – Recon #292
1 – Playbook #169
1 – XR #271

Ben's Cards and Collectibles Multiple Sports Breaks

Ben's Cards and Collectibles Box Breaks:  If you haven't checked out Ben's box breaks please do so.  The prices are reasonable, he has a good variety of all four sports, and allows stacking.  With 2017-2018 Panini's Status Basketball breaks you won't get a ton of cards but you have a shot at some good cards.  I grabbed Atlanta and Portland in this break and nailed it with this Damian Lillard blue parallel #/199.  Sweet card.  No way I can show off all the cards Ben shipped out but this post will show off some of my favorites.

The 2017-2018 Donruss Basketball break allowed me to grab Atlanta, Golden State and the Spurs.  Atlanta didn't yield much but that wasn't a good team but the Warriors allowed me to get favorite Steph Curry while the Spurs yielded favorite current player Kawhi Leonard in spades.

This press proof All Clear For Takeoff Kevin Durant was a great pull from the break.
A couple of football breaks gave me some of the Falcons greats.  Warrick Dunn is a PC guy for me as well.
I'm a casual hockey guy following the Flames and Bruins.  This was my first hockey box break and it was of 2019-2020 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Hockey. I really like the photos on these.

And of course there were baseball cards.  I was able to snag both the Braves and Red Sox for a 2020 Topps Series 1 break and these are a few of the highlights.
2018 Donruss baseball again netted me Braves and Red Sox pulls.  That Jackie Bradley Jr. and Mookie Betts are both name parallels.  Have to love the Xander Bogaerts photo as well.
No idea what parallel the Benintendi is on the left.  The Mookie DK is a blank back parallel and then another name parallel for Benintendi.
 Just some great Braves pulls.
These are favorites of mine and I really like that photo on the Tom Glavine card. So much fun in these breaks.  Make sure you check out Ben's breaks and thanks to him for doing such a great job with these.  Ben has also started up Ben's Cards and Collectibles BST Group which is another fun group that he just launched.
