2024 Update: Saw this hit the shelves last week and I had to grab a box. We'll kick it off with the presumed National League Cy Young, Chris Sale, which should be announced on 20 November. At the end of the post, I'll provide all the dates for MLB awards which will be announced throughout November. Maybe my only gripe here. This is a 2024 All-Star Game card. But you would never know that looking at it. In a perfect world we get the All-Star Game logo. But at least put something, anything on the front. Bad Topps, bad.
No surprises here as we get familiar faces in new unis. Not lots of stars but it's about players changing teams and young players. I'm already a fan of the design so no issues there.
I like the season highlights which include retired greats.
Lots of youngsters and Update includes Rookie Debut cards which are fun additions.
This is one of the three Holliday Parallels I pulled. I read it was based on Halloween? I don't get it but I'll roll with it but really it doesn't do anything for me. There are Bats and Pumpkins variations which look much better.
The familiar Stars of MLB inserts including a Chrome Austin Wells.
Rookie Combos insert.
A couple of Veteran Combo inserts and a Marcus Semien All-Star Game card, though you wouldn't know it by the front.
Yep, we have Paw Patrol inserts. I'm good with these actually.
Wow these two inserts clash. Not sure about Mystical inserts. Might be too Mystical for me. The 1989 Topps cards are okay but never was a favorite design of mine.
A Paul Skenes appearance which is always a good thing. Another Season Highlight card with an appearance by Cutch.

If I’m not mistaken, that Paw Patrol card is an SP and is pretty valuable.
ReplyDeleteThey're selling for under $5 pretty regularly on eBay. But I'd be more than happy if I was wrong on that.
Deletemy grandson would love those paw patrol cards.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind inserts like that. Anything to help kids enjoy cards.
DeleteNever watched Paw Patrol... but that card pretty much stood out from the rest of the box.
ReplyDeleteIt really does.
DeleteI have yet to find any blaster boxes of Update, but I did find some fat packs last weekend. I agree with some of the All Star cards some form of designation besides the back of the card. I also pulled the Judge Paw Patrol card.
ReplyDeleteWe seem to get more blasters than fat packs. I wish we had more fat packs. Blasters are good but not as easy on the budget.
DeleteI was able to find some blasters of Update a few days ago. I was actually surprised the store I went to had all of the new product.
