2020 Topps Update: Didn't enjoy not having an actual All-Star Game in 2020 but I do love how Topps pivoted to photos from past all-star games and homerun derbys.  Ichiro and this classic look gets the top spot from this pack.

More all-star game fun.

Turkey Red isn't my thing but can't argue with any of these guys.  

Great looking card.  Man that swing right?  I picked this pack up in January 2021 and I'm just now getting around to showing it off.  I never get tired of these and all the all-star fun.

Random Wax: 2020 Topps Baseball Update

 2020 Topps Update:  World Series kicks off tonight so let's do some baseball.  Big Mac went to three World Series winning one with the Oakland A's when they defeated the Giants in 1989.  Love the All-Star cards with retired greats. 

More All-Star Game coolness.  

Those retro cards are too cool.  I'm not a big fan of the Turkey Red but I know many are.  That Griffey is a Chrome variation of the Turkey Red.

Greinke is a favorite of mine.

We'll have a new champion in a week or less.  Enjoy the World Series!

Random Wax: 2020 Topps Update

 2020 Topps Update: I really like how Topps pivoted last year when there was no All-Star game and used photos from past events for their Update series.  It was great! We'll kick this one of with the closer GOAT who you can never go wrong with.

Plenty of All-Star Game and Home Run Derby cards which I enjoy.  

I'll be happy when Rendon comes off the disabled list.  One he is too good not to have playing and two my fantasy team needs him in the lineup.  ;) 

Pete Alonso is a fun player.  Too bad he's a Met.  Just saying...

Those '85 Topps inserts are just too cool.  Speaking of cool...Joe Kelly and those cool specs.

This guy is also on the IL but is having an amazing age 33 year with a 1.08 ERA.  Kyle Lewis is off to a slow start but I still hope he can reach the lofty expectations some day.  Fun pack of cards.

Random Wax: 2020 Topps Update

2020 Topps Update: I really liked last year's update set.  While there wasn't an All-Star game during the 2020 season Topps did well by doing cards with players in past games.  A great way to see more retired greats and All-Star Game moments.  We'll kick it off with Big Pappy.

I really do like All-Star games so these are right up my alley. 

Bart was a nice #1 Prospects pull.  Larry Walker are Frank Robinson give us more retired greats to enjoy.

Fun card. 

The Rangers have Inaugural Season logos on them for their first season in their new stadium.

A nice Albert Pujols royal blue parallel and a League Leader.

Another fun pack.  All the All-Star Game and retired great goodness is a win for me.

2020 Topps Update Baseball

 2020 Topps Update Baseball: The Update sets use to be one that was a chore for me.  Some nice shots or editing of players in new unis.  Maybe some nice inserts but not a lot of fun.  But I'm a big All-Star Game guy so those cards have kept me going since they started adding those.  But what about a year where there was no All-Star Game?  Topps did a really good job but including current and past all-stars as well as homerun derby participants.  Win! The Kid starts this pack off with some goodness.

The All-Star Game cards add the All-Star Game logo for that year which is cool.  You'll also find Active Leaders cards in these packs which I enjoy.

The Turkey Red don't thrill me but I get why some folks like them.  Respect for Derek Jeter but he's a guy who doesn't thrill me either...or most Red Sox fans.  That Baez card is a parallel.  What kind of parallel I'll probably never know.  The listings for the set really didn't have anything that fit.

The backs of some Active Leaders inserts.  Also note the "U" with the card number making it easily identifiable as a card from the Update series.

Fun pack of cards. Topps did a good job pivoting this year considering the issues they faced with the delayed season.  Finding retired greats is also a big plus.  You'll see more of these as time goes on.
