Random Wax: 2023 Score Football

2023 Score:  I really like this set and Hall of Famer Warren Moon in those classic Houston Oilers unis is great.
George Pickens was traded to Dallas and there have been rumors of the Ravens moving on from Mark Andrews.  I really do like this design.  Can't put my finger on way but it hits well with me.
Nolan Smith had 6 1/2 sacks last season for Philly helping them get to and win the Super Bowl.
Fun photo on this Celebration insert.
More youngsters.  I like the design on both the Protential and 2023 Throwback Rookie cards.  All three of these players had good seasons for their teams.
The look on Russell Wilson's face really helps this Sack Attack insert.  I do like these.
The First Ballot inserts are great.  Big fan.
I do like the Huddle Up inserts.  Joe Klecko is a guy I liked when I was younger.  I recently saw part of an ESPN documentary on The New York Sack Exchange 30 for 30 which was good.

6 – RC
3 – Sack Attack
3 – Retired Greats

Random Wax: 2023 Score Football Blaster

2023 Score:  Why not kick it off with Patrick Mahomes?  He and the Chiefs start defense of their 2023 Super Bowl win.  Three Super Bowl wins in six full seasons of playing?  Ridiculous.  Amazing career already and the Texas Tech alum will only be 29 this season.
I really like this design.  Feels crisp.

Really nice CJ Stroud pull.  Will Levis started nine games last year and the job is all this season.
More good pulls of youngsters.
I really like Derrick Henry and hope he'll do well in Baltimore.
Some great receivers here.  I know Kupp won't be his 2021 self again, but it feels like he could still do more for the Rams.  LA is a sexy pick to do well this year.  The defense will really miss Aaron Donald but the Rams have been drafting defensive line folks to help fill the gaps.  We'll see.
I like Huddle Up.
These First Ballot cards are favorites of mine.  We get retired greats, the Hall of Fame logo.  Fun design.  I like it.
Big fan of Michigan alum Aidan Hutchinson and he's lived up to the hype so far.
That Sutton card is a Stars Parallel #/299.
Retired great excellence.
Fun box of cards and a good pull.  Looking forward to the season and football Sundays.

Random Wax: 2023 Score Football Blaster

2023 ScoreKhalil Mack had the best season of his career getting 17 sacks for the LA Chargers who struggled mightily to a 5-12 record.

Great trio of quarterbacks.  Really hoping Joe Burrow can stay healthy.  That Tua is one of the Gold Parallels.  This is a design I like.  My favorite score design in some time.
Great celebration photo.  I'm glad they didn't limit these to the players.
Really nice CJ Stroud pull on this 2003 Throwback Rookie card.  Jordan Addinson had a great rookie year with 70 receptions for the Vikings.
Protential are solid inserts.
Base card rookies.
Not my favorite Huddle Up design but I do like the huddle photos.
Big fan of the First Ballot inserts.  I really enjoy that we get to see retired greats in this set.
Really nice action photo of Chris Jones taking down Russel Wilson.
More retired great greatness.
Great photo.
That Gerald Everett card is a Lava Parallel #/565.
Fun.
Three of the best receivers in the league.  Justin Herbert is hoping Jim Harbaugh can cure all the Chargers' ills.  Won't be that easy but there's hope in LA.   Great box of cards.

Random Wax: 2023 Score Football

2023 Score:  Free agency starts today and we'll kick it off with Hall of Famer LT.  This is a good-looking card and good photo.  I'm also a fan of the older Charger unis that were dark blue.  LT was involved in a big trade that helped shape the futures of both the Chargers and Falcons in different ways.
April 20, 2001: Traded by Falcons as 2001 1st round pick (5th overall) with 2001 3rd round pick (67th overall, Tay Cody), 2002 2nd round pick (48th overall, Reche Caldwell) and Tim Dwight to Chargers for 2001 1st round pick (1st overall, Michael Vick)
Nice Josh Allen pull.  No clue how to grade the Bills offseason until after the draft next month.  They have cap issues and really haven't added the impact players us fans always hope for.
The Sack Attack cards are good looking cards.  Score nailed it going horizontal to help catch the moment better.
Plenty of youngsters including these 2003 Rookie Throwback and Protential inserts as well as a base card Zay Flowers.
The Celebration inserts are also a fun card I like.
I do like the design of 2023 Score.  Here we have a Red Parallel of D'Onta Foreman.
I do like the Huddle Up. Design is a bit different I like this photo.
Not the best pack I've opened but I do like this set.  The design, inserts and retired greats always make it fun.

BREAKDOWN:

7 – RC
3 - Protential
3 – Red Parallel
2 - Celebration

2023 Score Football

2023 Score Football: New NFL season so let's do some new football cards.  These have been on the shelves for a bit but this is a great time to show them off.  Josh Allen and the Bills should be playoff bound again this season but they need to get over the hump when they play tougher competition in the playoffs.
This design looks like an insert to me.  Maybe something with a score at the bottom.  But I like it.  It's not perfect with the side borders a bit clunky but I'll grab more of these for sure.  Love that throwback 1976 helmet Diggs is wearing with the additional red stripe.
Really good photo on this Sack Attack insert.  It works well in this vertical look.
Rookies are well represented.  Here we have the 2003 Throwback Rookie, base rookie card and Protential inserts.  All three are good but I really like the Throwback Rookie design.
Celebration inserts go vertical as well.  Another good choice and who doesn't love a lineman getting in on the fun.
The backs are fine with plenty of color but I'd still like to see more stats.
Huddle Up inserts work for me to.  Not sure why I'm good with something as simple as a huddle photo but I am.
This was a fun design and fun pack of cards.  Can't wait for the game tonight as the season kicks off.  Everyone enjoy!
