2025-26 Topps NBA Hoops Basketball Hanger Box

25-26 Hoops:   Jimmy Butler was having a good year until an ACL did his season in.  With Steph out a good part of the season as well, the Warriors season was doomed.  It'll be interesting to see what Golden State does in the off season.  Not sure if a to be 37 year-old Butler coming off a major injury is part of the way forward but not sure they'll be able to move him.  Either way, I'm a big Butler fan and I love this photo.
I wasn't aware Topps had a Hoops basketball brand but recently found them at Wal-Mart.  These cards have a holo/shiny vibe to them.  I know not all cards show it in the scans, but that Wagner is how all the cards look.  It's an alright design.  I'm not a fan of "shiny" cards but this is more in line with regular cards with a shiny vibe to them.
I like the Highlights subset.  Good looking cards in a horizontal design.
Youngsters including a The Buzz insert.  Ace Bailey averaged 13 points per game in his rookie campaign.  More is expected from the highly touted youngster as Utah looks to take a step forward next season.  And "Ace" is some great name game.
There are 30 cards in the All-Stars subset and I love it!  I'm not a fan of the NBA All-Star game anymore but I love cards with actual photos from the All-Star game.
A Rainbow Purple & Blue Parallel #/199, Orange Hoops Parallel, and Net 2 Net insert.  I like that purple and blue card and Net 2 Net isn't too bad either.
The back of my Steph Curry Highlights card.  There are 10 cards in this subset.
The backs are fine though there is a lack of stats.  We expect more from you Topps.  I was skeptical of these at first, but they are growing on me.  More expensive than base Topps so that factors in to these a bit. Jalen Duren had an All-Star season for the Pistons averaging 19 and 10 as one of the better bigs in the league.

Random Wax: 2022-2023 Hoops Basketball

22-23 Hoops:   The 76ers got a surprising win (1 game) over the Celtics, without Joel Embiid, in the first round of the playoffs.
Maverick fans can't enjoy these Luka cards.  This was a reduced priced pack I purchased in 2024 but just now posting.
And there he is again...  Collin Sexton is on a Teal Explosion Parallel while 2X All-NBA Vince Carter shows up on an appropriate Purple Parallel Hoops Tribute.
Rookie cards.  Not the best of my pulls.
CJ McCollum has made a big difference for the Atlanta Hawks since he arrived as part of the trade that sent Trae Young to the Wizards.  Atlanta has had a good first round series with the Knicks.  AD was also traded to the Wizards in a separate deal with the Mavs.  I don't see how it works but I do hope we get to see AD and Trae Young play together.

Random Wax: 2022-2023 Hoops Basketball Blaster

22-23 Hoops:   AD is no longer a Laker.  AD was a Maverick for only 29 games.  AD is now a Washington Wizard.  It's been a crazy year and a half for him.  AD is on a popular Hoops Tribute card here.
Trae Young is also a Washington Wizard.  That trade has worked out well for the Hawks.  What will the Wizards look like with Trae and AD?  Are they truly all in on contending?  Will they keep AD?  Plenty of questions Wizards' leadership must figure out.
Dyson Daniels is an All-Defensive 3 and D standout now on the Hawks.  He was a great pickup.  The Rockets have scuffled lately but are still a playoff team and Jabari Smith Jr. will be a big part of any success they have.
Youngsters on different inserts including a Rise N Shine Relic.  Mark Williams is now the starting center for the Phoenix Suns.  I wish TyTy was doing better.  I just want to hear his name in the news.
Nice Ja photo even if his career has taken a left turn.  Booker and the Suns have surprised this season and he's having another excellent season averaging 25/3/6 per game.
Just don't get Pure Players but Doncic is always a plus.  I do like Frequent Flyers and Skyview isn't bad.  No matter what I think of the designs I do like the stars.  Jayson Tatum has come back early from an Achilles injury to bolster an already good Celtics team.
Doesn't scream "greetings card".  Just saying.
Austin Reeves and the Lakers had surged of late, but Luka is now injured and it's unsure what they'll look like going into the playoffs.  Just now posting this blaster after picking it up in 2023.
More Hoops Tribute cards, including a retired great, and one of the best photos in the set showing KAT skying towards the rim.

Random Wax: 2024-2025 Hoops Basketball

24-25 HoopsLaMelo Ball's stats are down this year, but I think that's more of a product of Charlotte's game right now and not an indictment of his play.  Since January, the Hornets are playing great ball behind Ball, Brandon Miller, and rookie Kon Knueppel.  Happy to see them playing well.
Really nice photo on that KD card.  Durant is 37 and is having a crazy good year...again!  Man, he is good.  I like this design the more I look back on it.  It definitely has a Hoops vibe.
Dalton Knight came on strong, but things just fell off or him.  A shame.  Seemed like he was going to be a thing.  Hopefully it'll turnaround for him.  Bub Carrington has been solid averaging 10/3/4 with the Wizards.  Sold Washington uni properly looking like the old Bullets.
Reed Sheppard has provided a real spark for the Rockets this year with his scoring, shooting and playmaking off the bench.  Wish the Greetings inserts had more of a greeting card vibe to it.
Kelly Oubre Jr. and Dereck Lively II bringing strong hair game to the sport.
Los Angeles Laker Luka Doncic will probably be 2nd to SGA in the MVP voting, but he'll right there in the conversation.  He's averaging 33/7/8 a game this year as he continues to rub it in the Mavericks' nose.  I did not know he had this many nicknames:  The Matador, El Matador, Cool Hand, The Don, Wonder Boy, El Niño Maravilla, Swaggy L, Luka Legend, Too Easy, Luka Magic
Fun pack.  Plenty of star power including Steph Curry who has struggled with injuries in what feels like a lost season for the Warriors.

Random Wax: 2023-2024 Haunted Hoops Bundle

23-24 Haunted HoopsDame should be back on the court in 2026-2027.  His time with Milwaukee was short and not that great unfortunately.  Hopefully he'll retire a Trail Blazer now.  Him being in Portland is just right even if he's 35 and nearing the twilight of his career.
It's Friday the 13th so fun sets like this are perfect.  Zion is having a good year but he's still one of the biggest enigmas in the sport.  You get a mix of Slime and Orange parallels in the set along with the standard white boardered cards.
Youngsters are highlighted on Rising Stars and base RC cards.  Brandon Miller and Chet Holmgren are stars in the league now.
Zach Lavine is a Sacramento King now and out for the rest of season with injury.  Anfernee Simons is a Bull after a short stop in Boston.
Holiday was traded to Portland in the deal that sent Simons to Boston.  Murray was traded to New Orleans but has been out all season with injury.  De'Aaron Fox is now with San Antonio and Wemby.  So much movement in the NBA.

Random Wax: 2021-2022 Hoops Blaster

21-22 Hoops: LaMelo Ball is good.  He and the Hornets seem to be on the upswing.  They have a solid team with surprise rookie Kon Knueppel really helping them this season.  When I was young, I subscribed to Slam magazine, and I have always liked these inserts.  Good job Hoops.
KAT is now a Knick and in a really good photo here.  The Phoenix Suns are a surprise team this year after trading away KD in the offseason and we get LaMelo's base card.  This design has always been a solid Hoops look.
Evan Mobley has developed into an excellent big man for the Cavs and is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year.
Lights, Camera, Action are favorites of mine and the only horizontal options in Hoops.
A Purple and a Blue Parallel.  De'Aaron fox is great at getting to the basket with his speed and here he gets a nice photo.  Jalen Green is now a Phoenix Sun.
I picked up this blaster in 2022 and I'm just getting around to sharing it.  Yep, 'Melo was a Trail Blazer for two seasons before ending his career in LA.  Chris Paul recently announced his retirement after a Hall of Fame career.
Skyview, Class of 2021, and Pure Players inserts.  Plenty of variety in Hoops which is always good.  I like the Class of 2021 inserts design.
Another good-looking Lights, Camera, Action insert.  Pascal Siakam has since become an Indiana Pacer helping them get to the NBA Finals last season.
A fun box of cards and lots of good photos.  I enjoy going through these after time has gone by and seeing what a difference 4 years can make in this instance.

Random Wax: 2024-25 Panini Haunted Hoops (20 Packs)

24-25 Haunted Hoops:   Its' Friday the 13th so let's get scary!  LeBron isn't who he once was as a player but he's 41 and still averaging 21 points per game, 5 boards and 6 assists per game.  This may be his last season, and I'll be sorry to see him go.  He's such an amazing player.  Here he is on a Hoops Tribute Slime Parallel.
That great Donovan Mitchell photo is on one of the 12 Orange (Pumpkin) parallels I pulled in these packs.  Mitchell is having a great season, but the Cavs just don't have the same magic they did last year.  Hated seeing Jimmy Butler go down for the season while KD is having an amazing age 37 season.
Ajay Mitchell and big man Kyle Filipowski have developed into solid contributors for their teams.
More Orange (Pumpkin) Parallels and one of my 6 Slime Parallels.  Michael Porter Jr. is having a really good year with his new team, Brooklyn, where he is the focus of the offense.
The backs on these are okay and I do like seeing the hint of Halloween scariness with the trees in the background and colors.
I want to see Naz Reid in the starting lineup someday.  He's a great shooting big but with Rudy Gobert entrenched in the middle for Minnesota, that isn't likely to happen anytime soon.
More Hoops Tribute inserts to finish off the post including mega stars like Luka Donci and Wemby.
